Using select strains of Saccharomyces cerevisiae (common Baker’s yeast), students can observe the entire yeast life cycle, including sexual and asexual reproduction, diploid and haploid life stages, and sporulation. Then, by employing various growth substrates, students will be able to induce each different stage. In addition, students will gain experience in the preparation of microscope slides and basic microbiology skills. It includes materials for six setups, teacher’s guide, and student copymaster.
