| Classify Elements According to Their Relative Reactivity |
Students create an activity series — ranking a group of elements according to their reactivity — with the materials in this kit. Students can determine each item’s reactivity in relation to another by placing one metal in a solution containing another metal and observing the reaction. They first collect and analyze the data in an investigation that takes approximately 40 minutes, then form balanced equations and create graphs for each reaction. The kit comes with enough materials for 15 setups.
