WARD’S Tectonics Model

Show the Development of a Variety of Landforms
Demonstrate tectonic processes such as compression, the formation of folds and reverse faults, erosion of a fold and unconformability, expansion and rift valley formation, and sedimentation in a rift valley and growth faults, all with one simple model. The clear acrylic tank, filled with layers of the included colored sand acts as an area of the Earth’s crust. When the flat plate is pushed in from the side, the layers fold. The supplied L-shaped plates, placed together and filled with layers of sand, then pulled apart, create fault blocks which you can then refill with additional sediment to re-create a riverbed. The model includes a clear plastic tank, flat plate with push rods, sediment tamper, set of colored sand, and user’s guide. Size of tank: 10 1/2″L x 6 1/2″W x 6″H.
