The fragment pattern generated by electrophoresis of animal protein is used to formulate conclusions about the relationship of the proteins from each life form. In the lab activity, students electrophorese proteins from three types of sera: chicken, turkey, and bovine. The kit includes enough samples and reagents to run up to ten gels, a teacher’s guide, and student copymaster.
