Determine the Composition of Complex Molecules |
With this basic lab exercise, students view chromatography in action and reinforce the principles of the scientific method at the same time. Students will separate unknowns and controls to determine the composition of ink dyes, amino-acid mixtures, and plant pigments. They will even observe separation in fruit juice and the oil from their own fingerprints. It includes materials for five setups, a teacher’s guide, and booklet detailing the experiments.
