Designed for sampling soft, finely divided littoral bottoms of muck, mud, ooze, submerged marl, or fine peaty materials, the stainless steel scoops overlap to reduce sample loss. The lids on top open during descent to allow water through and then close during retrieval, while the center pivot closing action minimizes sample disturbance. Its light-weight design also means that it can be used from smaller boats. It uses the reliable Twin-Pin messenger closing mechanism and is designed for a 3/16″ line, both available separately. It includes a protective carrying case. Scoop volume: 3 1/2 L. Size of chamber: 6 cubic inches; weight: 10 lbs.
