Students can study the intricacies of the cell on a computer through striking electron micrographs, informative narrated text, hypertext definitions, quizzes, and more. Over 80 labeled micrograph images can be viewed in standard 2-D mode, or in breathtaking 3-D mode with the use of the optional 3-D Dissection System (sold separately elsewhere in this section). The program contains 12 comprehensive chapters of on-screen information, with narration, that clarify structure-to-function relationships by relating cell workings to the organization and daily activities occurring in an average city. Passing the mouse over different parts of an image magnifies and highlights structures. Images are printable, with or without text. A testing utility, with accompanying images, draws questions randomly from a pool so that no two students get exactly the same quiz. Test results can also be printed.
