The process by which a caterpillar becomes a butterfly, or complete metamorphosis, is one of the most extraordinary processes in nature, guaranteed to captivate your students. Now your class can watch every step of a butterfly’s amazing development. Over the course of three or four weeks, Painted Lady (Vanessa cardui) larvae grow and pupate, emerging as beautiful, colorful butterflies. It comes with 30 butterfly larvae, terrarium for adults, 30 containers with lids for pupae, medium, spoon, transfer brush, and instructions. Size of terrarium: 16″L x 9″W x 10 1/2″H. Note: Some states may require a USDA permit.
