Nontoxic and water soluble, DETAIN is a clear, non-ionic macromolecular polymer that slows microlife by physical, not chemical, means. Adding DETAIN to a microscope slide slows motile microlife without inhibiting natural functions such as cell division or replication, making it easy to study the organisms under the microscope. In addition, it also forms a “skin” around wetmount coverslips, preventing dessication. It is supplied in a plastic dropper bottle and comes with an information sheet.
