This counting cell holds 1,000 cubic millimeters of liquid, 1 mm deep over an area of 50 x 20 mm. A cover glass traps liquid to the correct depth. By observing the liquid through a low magnification microscope, objects contained in each cubic millimeter can be identified and counted.
