Teach How Magnets and Electricity are Related |
Starting with a compass, you can lead your students through properties of magnetism and how to measure the Earth’s magnetic field. Then, you can create a telegraph with an electromagnet or build your own galvanometer or research Oersted’s Law. The student version includes two bar magnets; a horseshoe magnet; one each of aluminum, iron, copper, and zinc electrodes; an electromagnet and contact key; two magnetic compasses; Oersted’s Law apparatus; and instructions with correlations to the National Science Education Standards, student instruction sheets, and suggestions for science fairs. The classroom version also includes a motor demonstrator and a dynamo generator AC/DC.
