Present your students with outstanding photomicrographs of prepared microscope slides with different enlargements that focus on different sections of each image. Almost 800 images cover the following seven systematic areas: Zoology; Histology; Cytology and Genetics; Bacteria and Diseased Human Organs; Embryology; Ecology and Environment; and Botany. All slides can be viewed using the “Virtual Microscope”, which allows you to move through the field of view just like in a real microscope. The software also provides descriptive text and labels, full-color illustrations, anatomic color tables, charts, life cycle depictions, diagrams of process cycles, and the ability to make each image zoom to full screen size to make it easier to locate and explain the individual structures. If you wish, you can also turn the labels off and use the quiz function to set a time limit and the number of students to take the quiz. The quiz will present images randomly and display each student’s score as they work through the quiz. You can also choose to print any images and text descriptions for worksheet handouts. The software can be run in English, German, Portuguese, or Spanish modes.
