Using a variety of common foodstuffs as tools to determine the presence or absence of starch or sugar in foods, students discover the rich, safe sources of biological materials in food. Additional activities center around the breakdown of foods by enzymes and the use of natural plant pigments as acid-base indicators. Includes materials for six experiments. All experiments are created and classroom tested by teachers and science education experts.
