The unique stop system of this device allows students to load masses on the lever arm without it falling. Gears with 12, 24, and 36 teeth, then allow students to investigate the advantage behind different gear ratios. Experimenting with different setups, students discover the mechanical advantage of gears and three types of levers. You can also challenge students to devise a way to lift a mass using the least amount of force. Includes four gears, rwo levers, mounting hardware, and teacher and student guides.
