Quadcopter Power Distribution Board
Educational Materials Physics Educational Materials Applied Physics Learning Activities
The Power Distribution Board provides solder-free connections for the electrical system.

  • Fully Assembled – no soldering required!
  • Extra connections to power accessories
  • Unique shape allows it to cleanly mount & stack with many multirotor components
  • Accepts 3.5 mm bullet connectors that are easily removable, yet provide high capacity and secure connections – great for constantly evolving projects
  • Reflow manufacturing process ensures all connectors are securely attached for superior electrical performance and mechanical strength!
Interconnect numerous power sources and sinks in a compact, yet high-capacity form-factor. Designed for use in the ELEV-8 v3 Quadcopter with 1 to 2 batteries and up to 3 additional low-power peripheral devices, this board will keep your project well organized and energized.

The ELEV-8 Power Distribution Board is provided as a replacement part for the ELEV-8 V3 Quadcopter Kit, for use with the following additional items required (will vary with application):

Safety Eyewear
Power Adapter Cable, such as the ELEV-8 EC3 to 3.5 Bullet Connector Power Cable
Devices with 3.5 mm Bale Bullet Connectors, such as the Parallax xRotor 20A ESC
3-wire Extension Cables or 3-pin female header with 0.1"" spacing
NOTICE OF RISK: The ELEV-8 Power Distribution Board (PDB) can at times involve substantial risk of injury, property damage, and other dangers. Dangers particular to such activities include, but are not limited to: electrical shock, electrical sparking and arcing, reversed polarity, electrical short, burns, fire, and explosion. See product documentation for details. By purchasing and using this product, you assume these risks.

Accessories information: We've thoughtfully engineered the entire quadcopter as a durable yet highly functional aerial development platform. A generous 3lb payload capacity or flights up to 20 minutes on a single battery support the experiments and applications you want to pursue.

The entire system is designed in a clean, open plan that requires no soldering for assembly. It is rugged enough to survive most minor crashes (inevitable if you're doing development, as we well know).

At the heart of the quadcopter is the ELEV-8 Flight Controller. We’ve developed our own in-house, so we can keep the Flight Controller, thoroughly-commented C-language firmware, airframe hardware, and Ground Station software tightly integrated as we continue to add features and develop accessories and applications.

We invite you to do the same. Because we strongly believe in the power of hands-on learning, we're releasing all of our firmware and software code as well as the PCB and airframe design files for your use. (See the Downloads section for open-source files.)

Features:
Engineered to survive minor crashes, and to be easily repaired after major crashes, while protecting the motors and flight instrumentation to save you time and money!
High-Performance isolation system for the flight controller reduces vibrations by up to 70%, significantly improving control response and impact protection
Step-by-step online ELEV-8 v3 Assembly & Flying Guides will help you learn from your build experience, and get you in the air sooner! (Technical support is always available if you have questions.)
Pair it with our ELEV-8 Web tutorials for a California A-G Approved drone curriculum.

Application Ideas:
Higher Education — a ground-breaking tool to aid college students in the understanding of physics, mathematics, control systems, programming, and engineering
Research & Development — use as an aerial platform for data acquisition, materials transport, or anything else you can imagine!
Aerial Imaging — adapt your ELEV-8 to capture stunning photos and videos from the air!

Important Notes:
While it is great for learning, the ELEV-8 v3 is not a toy. Improper or negligent use can cause bodily injury or property damage.
Recommended for ages 18 or over.

If you own an ELEV-8 v3 Quadcopter you must register it with the Federal Aviation Adminstration's UAS Registry before flying outdoors.
A USB A to Micro B cable is required to load flight controller firmware, not included.

An RF transmitter and receiver, Li-po battery (3300 mAh or 5300 mAh), and battery charger are required for flight, not included. For detailed requirements, please see the ELEV-T32:T338 v3 Quadcopter Assembly Guide.

Facts About California Proposition 65
Ward’s Science is committed to your safety and compliance with California’s Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986. As of August 30, 2018 the reporting requirements of this act, more commonly known as Proposition 65 changed. These changes require retailers who do business in the State of California to provide more robust and detailed labeling on items containing certain chemicals known to the State of California to be hazardous. In response, we have added new labels like the one shown below to many of our product packages and catalog descriptions. You may now see these labels on some products and packaging, even if you do not reside in the state of California. The safety and contents of our products have not changed. Our products continue to meet the highest safety standards for your classroom. For more information about California Proposition 65 and how it affects you, visit wardsci.com/prop65.
