One of the rarest and most beautiful meteorites, these sliced and polished specimens contain transparent to translucent crystals of olivine (peridot) in a shiny nickel-iron matrix. Pallasites are believed to have formed on differentiated bodies in the transition area between the metal-rich core and the olivine-rich mantle. Samples average 3/4" x 1" x 1/16" (4—6 grams).
